Position Description:

Starting Pay Rate: $19.19 (Non - Negotiable)

Under the direction of the Transportation Manager, transports clients and passengers to and from designated locations for TANF purposes; performs minor maintenance on vehicles. Successful candidates must have knowledge of safe and defensive driving practices; methods and procedures used in the servicing; applicable traffic laws, codes and regulations; basic record-keeping techniques; interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy; health and safety regulations. Must have the ability to observe legal and defensive driving practices; learn and follow designated routes; maintain vehicle in clean and proper working condition; conduct safety inspections and perform routine preventive maintenance; maintain routine records; understand and follow oral and written directions; Communicate effectively with others; meet schedules and time line; work with people from diverse cultures, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds and must always maintain cultural sensitivity.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school. Ability to meet the licensing, certification and testing requirements of the position; Passenger Endorsement; First Aid Certificate and CPR; Mandated Reporter; Maintain a professional, neat and well –groomed appearance, adhering to TMDCI uniform requirements; This position has duties and responsibilities that require regular contact with or control over Indian children and is therefore subject to the background investigative process to comply with PL 101-630.

Driving Requirements: This position requires driving in performance of duties and therefore requires possession of a valid California Class B driver’s license and ability to maintain insurability under the Tribe’s auto insurance policy throughout employment.
