GENERAL CASH ASSISTANCE

Information About General Cash Assistance

General Assistance is a monthly financial assistance to meet essential needs of those eligible Native Americans without income. When assistance and services are not available or are not being provided by other sources, the General Cash Assistance Program gives prompt attention and prevents unnecessary hardship for the applicant. The Bureau of Indian Affairs provides this assistance to promote personal health and family unity with economic and social stability.

Who can apply for General Cash Assistance?

Applicants must be enrolled in a federally recognized tribe, ¼ Indian and residing on one of our participating consortium reservations (Torres Martinez, Agua Caliente, Soboba, Santa Rosa, Cahuilla and Ramona). The applicant must also have no income in the home to qualify.

Where to apply for General Cash Assistance?

Please call the Behavioral Health Services Department at (800) 851-5816 ext. 258 to schedule an appointment at your nearest Riverside / San Bernardino County Indian Health, Inc. Applicants will need to bring their Social Security card, proof on Indian blood and proof of residency on the reservation.
